Hello all!

First of all, thanks to everyone who has made this a great site.  The site is still young and it already rocks.  This is due in large part to those of you who have uploaded trillions of bits, and due also to those of you who have downloaded all good stuff our uploaders have posted.

I would like to extend this invitation to Newbies and Veterans alike to help out with an official BPT Newbie Torrent Guide.

How do you help?  Well, post questions, post answers, post interesting tips and suggestions -- anything that will help fill out a guide.

Though my time is limited I would like to start working on a guide complete with screenshots of uTorrent that will help newcomers and teach them the basics of sharing with torrents.

There are a lot of good links out there in the webworld and we will certainly link to the best of them.

For now, post any thoughts you have on this topic and I will compile them (giving credit where credit is due of course!).

I highly recommend uTorrent for those of you searching for a high quality but small footprint torrent client.  They have an excellent starter FAQ which can be viewed HERE.

A torrent is a p2p or Peer-to-Peer based file sharing network based on the BitTorrent protocol.  Check out Brian's BitTorrent FAQ for more information on what it is and how it works! The FAQ is from 2003 and may be a tiny bit outdated but it still has some great information.

---HOW TO SHARE CONTENT------

This is the subject I'd like to address next.  I will create an easy to follow step by step guide using uTorrent.  Other torrent clients will follow basically the same steps.

In the meantime, utorrent already has a guide to posting torrents that is available HERE.

Again, I urge you to post any torrent-related questions you may have in this forum.
