Hi all, newbie to the forum but have been using utorrent for a while and never had this message occur until attempting a download from here.

Any help appreciated. I have also created a torrent and uploaded and as an avid poker fan was stoked to find this site. look forward to contributing to a great effort.

check if u r firewall is blocking utorrent.......

Try changing your port... i know m8 has same error through bigpond and he changed port in utorrent and worked again..........

Hmmm, not blocked and able to download torrents from elsewhere fine so took your advice and changed the port several times and made sure the router was allowing access.

Will play some more tomorrow. Thanks mate!

there shouldn't be a problem with our tracker that message is usually through your ISP so don't know why u can dl elsewhere but not here. ill ask m8 l8r c what he says about ya prob, if he suggests anything ill post it.

ok spoke to m8 through MSN this is cut n paste. hope you can make heads n tails of it.

He types…connection closed by peer Hi all, newbie to the forum but have been using utorrent for a while and never had this message occur until attempting a download from here.

The message he is referring to appears with the Tracker Status field and is specifically a result of failing to connect to the tracker. Usually it's a firewall or ISP-related issue.

Fix?

1 change port
2 port forward through router
3 uninstall reinstall utorrent
4 is he/she with bigpond in auusie? There blocking ports to cut file sharing.
5 what version utorrent maybe update?

Yes he in aussie not sure ISP, 1 says he done 2 done 3 not sure 4 not sure 5 not sure.

Ok pass this on and c if fixes, also if only happens with one tracker is there any seeds? Might be a dud torrent or site?

U taking my cash again ya reckon  he’s message ive had and I turned off modem over night and next morn worked again, im using Vuze now never a problem. K c u @ the cas tomorrow GN.

Hey really appreciate the help!

1-3 all fine.
4 not with bigpond with westnet and using port 50295
5 using latest version of utorrent 1.7.7
Did a bit of a search and people with similar problems usually have too many incoming connections.

Went to my utorrent speed panel (ctrl+g) and did a speed test: 2062 kb/s dl and 311kb/s upload.

Set the recommended outgoing connections 90 and hit apply, restarted utorrent and no joy same error.

Tested on here for the torrent Winning Strategies with 17 seeders and active.

Went off to mininova.org and torrentreactor.net and no errors, so I can eliminate the ISP and port.

I then tried Poker School from the popular torrents list and enabled encryption in utorrent (used to bypass slow speeds from isp's) and nada.

I also found it was suggested to have forced protocol enabled in case of bandwidth shaping (not shaped, beginning of the month and I can't use all my bandwidth in a blue fit anyway).

Well, going to dl azureus and try that.

Azureus is now called Vuze....

Installed, did a test torrent from torrentreactor with np then came here and tried poker school and got the following message:

Error : No data contained in 'http://www.bestpokertorrents.com/download.php?id=429&name=Poker%20School.DVDRIP.XVID.BPT.torrent'

Similar message with any other torrents I tried here.

poker school works ine with me. im using azureus and port 59536 never a problem on any private or any other tracker. i,m sorry but im unable to help especially with the last error ive never seen it b4. hope fully a tech might look at this post.

It is an issue with my pc for sure that I have yet to figure out. I tried on my laptop that is wireless networked to the router and no problem with the torrents.
