Australian Poker Hero is a new show airing in Australia, where players from all over Australia have a chance to win $25,000. Every week, 6 contestants will duke it out with an Australian Celebrity as a spanner in the works. There will be 16 episodes of Australian Poker Hero, with a host of celebrity appearances. Each episode winner will recieve a $15,000 Aussie Millions Main Event package and $10,000 to their charity of choice.

There are two ways for the contestants to gain entry, 1. Play APL (Australian Poker League) which started as pub poker tournaments - Win a tournament to be entered into the Australian Poker Hero final, and win. Or win a State Final (Anywhere up from 200) 2. Play the two qualifing tournaments on Full Tilt Poker, and win.(Over 800 players)

The first week will have each respective state's winner come up against each other, which will also be for bragging rights as to who is the best APL player in Australia.
